Improved Mental Health:

Numerous studies have shown links between the amount of time spent on addictive screen-based technologies like social media and mental challenges like anxiety, depression and the risk of suicide ideation

Health Outcomes:

Excessive screen time is also linked with inactivity, which has been shown to be linked with heart disease, diabetes and even some cancers. Time outside in the sun is also important for Vitamin D

Attention Span:

Our attention spans have decreased 30%, on average, since 2000, due to the nature of these screen-based technologies. Luckily, getting technology use under control can help reverse this attention decline

Productivity:

It takes an average of 23 minutes to regain focus on a task after a distraction. Less distractions means more time to focus and get the important things done

remember, it is not your fault!

The platforms that are occupying way to much of our lives were built to be addictive. Nearly all of us have fallen for the psychological tricks these companies have used to maximize the engagement with their platforms. All this time spent online has caused us to become lonelier, more disconnected, divided and anxious. Now is the time to take back our time, our attention, our minds and our power!

About me

My name is Stephen Jaye. I tried many different techniques to reduce my screen time. I tried making the first Sunday of every month a phone free day. I tried the standard screen time app. I even tried forcing myself to do planks and burpees! After studying habits and behaviorism, I was able to keep my total screen time in 2022 over 40% below the average American using the methods I share in my course and coaching service.

I sincerely believe most of us are capable of so much more. I believe humanity is capable of so much more. Spending less time online and distracted is an important tool in helping all of us reconnect with each other, as well as ourselves. I have a passion for building tools to help people attain a better life, which also includes my podcast and community building.

I grew up on Long Island (New York) and now live in Denver, Colorado where I love outdoor activity, music and concerts, travel and just generally being social. I also love science. My original area of study was meteorology and I also worked in data science and product management.
